What do the DUDES do?

The DUDES program was created to encourage more male role models to be present on campus to interact with the students. The type of programs they participate in is based solely on the level of participation from the members. 

 

Here are a few engagement ideas for our DUDES participants: 

 

• Open doors at morning drop off & afternoon pickup

• Attend recess & play games with students

• Take a lunch duty shift, visit with students, play games 

• Participate in High Five Friday 

• Family Literacy Day - Visit classes and read with small groups

• Attend/assist with PTA Family Nights

 

What does the DUDES leader do? 

The DUDES Leader will communicate with interested parents about the program and organize events and activities for participants, with the help of the PTA Board. 

 

Who can join DUDES?

Dads, grandparents, uncles, older brothers - we welcome all male role models to participate in the program. 

 

Am I required to participate in all of the events? 

No, just like all of our PTA committees the level of participation is up to you. 

 

Are there any requirements to join DUDES?

As with all volunteers at an NBISD campus, you will be required to complete a district background check.
